In a month's time, Nat will be 3 and I will probably switch to quarterly updates instead of monthly ones.
What can I say about my munchkin this month? She went on her first flight and holiday and enjoyed our exclusive attention for a week. She was mostly well-behaved for the trip, except for the Harbourtown fiasco and fidgeting on the plane but deep down she's a good girl and just wants our approval.

In fact, she sometimes will look at me when someone offers her a treat, checking if it's alright to accept and consume but other times she'll throw caution to the wind and gobble the sweet before you can take it away!
I know their minds are like sponges at this age and we should be doing more to nurture their growth and development but we have not registered her for pre-school though most 2008 babies would be starting school this week. We might start in Term 2 and are now only just starting to enquire at some schools but because we were not kiasu enough, most places are full, especially morning slots.

I'm sure we'll find something eventually, and I really want it to be in the mornings only so she can continue afternoon naps. Lately she's been sleeping less in the afternoons, around 1 hour instead of the usual 2 so while she's doesn't need to rest so long now, I don't want to get rid of the nap just yet.
She is starting to mind her Ps and Qs, realising things get done faster when she says 'please'. She even says 'excuse me' to Gigi e.g. "Excuse me Gigi, can you move over there? Thank you".
She's very picky about the animal characters on her Pampers, having a preference for the penguin or monkey and sometimes she'll pull diaper after diaper from the pack to find a penguin! Although it seems to have improved a little. She loves colourful clothes, wonder if I influenced that?
She's hardly slept in her own bed since we got it. Maybe only once or twice at night, though more often for afternoon naps but she prefers to sleep on ours still. Have been telling her about her upcoming birthday and how she's going to be a big girl and I think she is slowly maturing.

She is excited about her birthday, I offered her several themes including Strawberry Shortcake, Dora, Hi-5, Barney but she selected Care Bears. Now I just need to find a venue, despite my intentions to keep it small, I think it will still be a big do...my family is just too big and home will be cramped.

The tantrums/sudden teary outbursts appear to have stopped for now though she's developed a phobia of vomiting. Nowadays she won't finish her milk out of fear that she will puke if she finishes it but I have explained that the episode on the plane was a one-off because of turbulence but she doesn't believe me! When I encourage her to finish the last ounce, she will shake her head and say, "No, I will vomit."

There are certain tasks where she will demonstrate her independence such as securing her seatbelt, be it for the car seat, stroller or high chair; and putting on her clothes and shoes by herself. She insists on brushing her own teeth but I usually don't let her because she just likes to suck on the toothpaste, hasn't mastered rinsing.
We bought her a slightly taller step-stool from Ikea so she observes the ongoings in the kitchen a fair bit. I wonder if she will have an interest in cooking later on?
When we walk through the carpark, she will ask about the car logos and what is what. She recognises Toyota, Peugeot, Volkswagen and Audi.
Gigi is 28 months today and compared to Nat when she was this age, her language is way more developed and sentences more sophisticated. She's a regular chatterbox and associates events with places and things.

Her pooping habits have improved by leaps and bounds, she doesn't make any noise now and sometimes she doesn't inform anyone either when she's done!

There is an Elmo/Katy Perry video about opposites that she just loves. She also loves to 'raba-raba' boobs, very tactile this one!
